The intricacies of the Vietnamese language, in which tonal variations can change the meaning of a word, were brought home for Travel Editor Winston Aldworth last week while cycling in the south-east Asian country.
In this video, cycle guide Son Hung Nguyen demonstrates how "Ga" can have six different meanings,from "chicken" to "giving away ones daughter". Aldworth and Nguyen were riding with Intrepid Travel (intrepidtravel.com) on the Peloton Against Plastic (pelotonagainstplastic.com).
