Scenic Lake Rotorangi in southern Taranaki was created when the Patea River was dammed in 1984.
This long finger of water hosts an annual multisports event called the Rotorangi Gutbuster, which consists of 14km of kayaking, a 12km run and a 45km bike ride.
The event will be held on April 17
