Opening day for Australia's biggest floral festival comes into full bloom on Saturday and you can make a preview journey through the flowerbeds on the internet.

Floriade Australia's celebration of spring is set in Canberra, but accessible through the bright website.

The event is on until October 14, so you can use the website to pre-plan a visit to Canberra.

Floriade will illustrate Australia's historical events over the past 100 years with floral displays called a Century in Bloom, while community groups, markets, restaurants, plant nurseries and even the gardens of Parliament House get in the mood for spring.
