Airplane shockers

The recent release of the movie Flight - in which Denzel Washington plays a pilot who pulls off an outrageous manoeuvre during a crash - got the team at Travel wondering what would be the worst movies to play as inflight entertainment.

A blogger on BookingBuddy.com beat us to it. Here's their list.

1. Nightmare at 20,000 Feet

A classic episode of The Twilight Zone in which William Shatner looks out the window and sees a freaky flying creature attacking the wing.

2. The Langoliers

A Stephen King TV miniseries in which a plane somehow flies through a rift in time to find weird Pac-Man-style monsters eating the landscape.

3. Cast Away and/or Lost Season 1

Spectacular crash scenes in both.

4. Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo

According to BookingBuddy.com "this movie should not be shown anywhere, at any time, for any reason, and least of all on a plane full of people".

5. Con Air

A great movie in which Nicolas Cage sports a great mullet. And there's another crash.

6. Turbulence

More criminals on a plane. And some criminally bad acting from Ray Liotta.

7. Snakes on a Plane

Samuel L. Jackson in a reptile/airliner cross-over classic.

8. The Exorcist

Scary on the ground. Scary in the air.

9. 9 weeks

BookingBuddy.com reckons this "is about as inappropriate as it gets, on so many levels".

10. Airplane!
