Each week, expat Kiwis tell us what they most love about living by Queensland's beaches. Today we hear from Tiffany Beal from Sunshine Coast Destination.

SEE

Best beach: With 100km of pristine coastline it's pretty hard to choose, but Main Beach at Noosa is the jewel in the Sunshine Coast's crown.

Best walk: Caloundra Coastal Pathway from Bulcock Beach to Lake Currimundi.

Best adventure: Four-wheel-driving along the beach from Noosa North Shore to Rainbow Beach.

Best view: From the top of Mt Coolum.

Must do: Grab a picnic blanket and take in the sunset with a bucket of fresh Mooloolaba prawns and a bottle of your favourite champagne.

Best-kept secret: The weekend markets are great places to experience a slice of local life and sample an amazing selection of Sunshine Coast produce.

Famous for: Sunshine of course. The Sunshine Coast experiences an average of seven hours of sunshine daily and more than 300 days of sunshine each year.

Best water activity: Stand-up paddle boarding on the Noosa River.

Best place to swim: Little Cove, Noosa.

TASTE

Best coffee spot: Little Cove Coffee Co at Noosaville or Costa Noosa Espresso at Sunshine Beach.

Best spot to get an icecream: Ben & Jerry's on Mooloolaba Esplanade.

Best picnic spot: Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

The best local produce: Eumundi strawberries, Buderim figs, and Mooloolaba prawns.

Where should we eat? Ocean St in Maroochydore or Peregian Square at Peregian Beach.

Looking for something special for dinner? The Spirit House Restaurant in Yandina for fabulous modern Thai cuisine set in lush tropical gardens.

Where to hang out when the sun goes down: Ocean St, Maroochydore, particularly on the second Friday of the month when the street is closed off for the night markets.

Best shop: Kunara Organic Marketplace in Forest Glen for everything natural and organic.

Don't miss: Noosa National Park for a great walk, beautiful beaches and spectacular views - and it's free.

Worth paying for: An Animal Encounter at Australia Zoo.

Be one of the first to: Swim with the whales with Sunreef Mooloolaba - it's a new activity available May-October.

Best sporting event to catch: Noosa Festival of Surfing held in March.

Best cultural activity in the area: The Australian Body Art Festival held at Eumundi in May.
