Best beach: Noosa Main Beach.

Best walk: The walk from the Noosa National Park carpark to Little Cove Beach.

Best adventure: Anything new that involves a new beach discovery at the end of it.

Best view: View from the top of Mt Coolum.

Must do: Climb to the top of Mt Coolum - I prefer to run up and down.

Best-kept secret: Coolum Beach.

Famous for: Clive Palmer (mining magnate) turning the upmarket Hyatt into a dinosaur park, and for its beautiful beaches.

Best water activity: Surfing.

Best place to swim: Anywhere you find the swell is pumping.

TASTE

Best coffee spot: Noosa National Park - there is a little kiosk hidden in the trees overlooking the beach. The guy is a master of the latte.

Best spot to get an icecream: Morgans Seafood Restaurant at Scarborough, Moreton Bay.

Best picnic spot: Scarborough Beach. Fire up a free barbie.

What's the best local produce: Again, Morgans - the produce will be fresh seafood..

Where should we eat: Again, Morgans at Scarborough - have a picnic of fish 'n' chips overlooking the prawn boats.

Looking for something special for dinner: Have a seafood buffet at Morgans, with a nice sav blanc.

Where to hang out when the sun goes down: The surf club in Noosa overlooks the ocean and is a nice spot.

Worth paying for: Why pay when so much is free?

Be one of the first to: Get a carpark at Noosa National Park - or else the walk is miles.

Best sporting event to catch: My nephew, Max, playing about six games of AFL for Coolum.

Best cultural activity in the area: Chucking another shrimp on the barbie.

Best place to rest your head: Wherever it happens to land.

Highly recommended accommodation: My brother- and sister-in-laws' place in Coolum.

Favourite hotel nearby: The Palmer Coolum Resort.

RELAX

Best sunset view: Probably Mt Coolum.

Best beach or park: Noosa National Park.

Best place to be pampered: Sunshine Coast Student Massage Clinic - $40 for two hours.

Favourite spa: Guys don't do spas.
