Competitions co-ordinator David Highsted said the AgriKidsNZ competition was developed in 2005 to introduce and make agriculture fun and accessible to young New Zealanders.
"We aim to share the passion we feel about agriculture in the hope that more students will see the wide range of excellent careers available in the industry."
Mr Highsted said the Geraldine trio were exceptional competitors and had represented their school with pride. The trio came seventh in the previous year and are the first from Geraldine High to take out the AgriKidsNZ title.
The top three teams at regional compete in the grand final with the FMG Young Farmer of the Year each July.
