A seminar on breeding and feeding healthy velvet stags will be held on a Fordell farm next week.
The regional workshop is a joint effort between Dairy Industry New Zealand and the Ministry of Primary Industries.
It will discuss the feed requirements of velvet stags, wintering of stags on fodderbeet, the health of velvet stags, genetics and keeping records.
It is being held at the Laird Partnership property woolshed, 861 No 2 Line Fordell, on Tuesday and gets under way at 11am with coffee available beforehand.
The seminar is part of the Passion2Profit programme. Everyone is welcome and there is no charge but participants need to RSVP to paniaflint@gmail.com.
The seminar is described as an interactive workshop and organisers say they "expect participants to contribute their knowledge and experience to the discussion".
It will conclude after the discussion which starts at 2pm.
