Exhibits of cooking, needlework and flowers were admired and appraised.
Preserves and vegetables grown were also judged. There is a basket on display that was bought for five shillings at the first show.
Today the Home Industries section includes produce, jams, pickles and preserves, baking, flowers (and champion bloom) and handcrafts with a range of sections for children to enter from under five to 16 years, with adults from 17 and upwards.
