From its beginnings over 40 years ago, Hall's has grown into one of the most sophisticated specialist refrigerated logistics company in New Zealand, and has developed a true national network, with branches from Auckland to Invercargill.
The Hall's Group of companies is about leveraging all of Hall's capability with 40 plus
years' experience, 600 people, 300 trucks (including owner drivers, 80 Intermodal units and 11 Depots across the country).

Divisions within the Hall's Group include:

Hall's Refrigerated Division

This division consists of 4 separate businesses that operate temperature controlled transport on multiple modes of transport and trans-shipping Depots, with the largest business being Hall's Refrigerated Transport. Our state of the art facility in Auckland was commissioned in 2001 and is one of the most modern and well-designed cold stores in New Zealand. In June 2012 a new Christchurch facility came online, again deploying the latest technologies at the same time as enhancing our warehousing capabilities throughout the country by a further 1,500 pallet spaces for refrigerated products. Our new Invercargill Depot was also commissioned in July 2012. These Depot development programmes were undertaken with continuity and integrity of the cold chain in mind.
The other business units within this Division are Hall's Direct (meat and seafood for Countdown, North Island), Hall's QSR (McDonalds) and Hall's Roadways (Burger King and other point-to-point customers).

Hall's predominantly employee-driven fleet comprises some of the most technologically advanced refrigerated equipment on New Zealand's roads today. We continue to design and build equipment to maximize load factors through innovation, advancing technology and optimization of legislative changes, often in consultation with customers about their specific requirements.

We operate state of the art cross-dock facilities at strategic national locations, as well as offering chilled and frozen storage options at key branches in both the North and South Islands.

This comprehensive fleet is entirely company controlled and the management programme we have in place offers reliability through planned, progressive replacement and maintenance of all trucks, trailers and refrigeration units. The refrigeration units, where possible, are fitted with low decibel kits to reduce noise pollution as far as practicable. Most of the fleet is fitted with multi temperature units to allow maximization of load efficiency and seamless delivery of dual temperature consignments. All refrigeration units are fitted with Cooltrax, a real time refrigeration monitoring system which includes GPS.

Hall's Intermodal

This Division is focused on container transport, both dry freight and reefer units, and all forms of dry cartage and general freight.

Hall's Logistics

Hall's Logistics was acquired in 2010 and is the warehousing division of the company with 10,000 pallets spaces for the chilled and frozen categories and 12,000 pallets spaces of ambient warehousing capability. Hall's Logistics is licensed to service the most stringent EU market and provides the full suite of warehousing services from container devanning through to carton picking.

Hall's is committed to the protection of the environment and the sustainable and responsible use of all natural resources. Hall's will practice adherence to this policy by using plant and equipment, processes and materials which minimize any adverse impact on the environment. We are an extension of the food industry, delivering specialist services in all aspects of transport, distribution and storage of food products calling for refrigeration. Hall's are New Zealand's best practice refrigerated transport company.
