Wifi, app for Abel Tasman National Park

Parts of the Abel Tasman National Park will go "live" today with the launch of a virtual visitor centre and Wifi network.

Visitors will be able to access up-to-date information on anything from weather and tides, to plants and wildlife.

Department of Conservation's partnerships manager Martin Rodd said the network will open up new possibilities for education in schools.

The phone app can be downloaded both by Android and iOS users.
