YouTube has changed the way we watch videos - and there have been some classic clips that chewed up our broadband bandwidth over recent years. Here are some of the best.
– The clip of a teenage boy pretending to wield a lightsaber became the biggest viral video in 2006. The Canadian teen, Guyslain Raza never intended the video to be made public and sued his classmates for posting it claiming his life was ruined. Gold.
– The popular Australian video that poked fun at the New Zealand accent inspired numerous remixes, mash ups, t-shirts and an ABC TV series.
– A fat guy in a leotard, dancing to Beyonce's Single Ladies. Enough said.
Sneezing Panda
– A surprisingly loud sneeze by a baby panda is cute enough, but it's the mother's reaction that made this viral video such a hit.
– Six minutes of dance spanning five decades, blended seamlessly by motivational speaker Jason Laipply became one of the most viewed videos on You Tube.
– Lonely Girl achieved massive popularity on YouTube after its release in 2006. A video blog focusing on the life of a teenage girl called Bree, it was eventually proved to be a hoax.
Susan Boyle Britain's Got Talent
– The YouTube video of Susan Boyle's performance on Britain's Got Talent, which surprised all who watched the show, helped shoot the unlikely superstar to fame.
Robot dance
– David Bernal's performance at the 2001 Korean-American talent contest in Los Angeles is a You Tube favourite.
– Janet Jackson's notorious wardrobe malfunction went viral minutes after the incident occurred at the 2004 Super Bowl half time show.
OK Go – Here it goes again
– Ok Go's dance video for their single "Here it Goes Again" graced the web in 2006. Shot in one take, the video shows the band performing with impeccable timing on treadmills.
