Text message soap opera set to start

The first text message soap opera is about to be launched as part of an aggressive advertising campaign by Vodafone.

From August 20, Vodafone customers will be introduced to a story about glamorous teenage characters in "TXT life," through messages sent to their cellphones daily.

Vodafone's Greg Runnerstrum said the soap opera would be free for the first six weeks, then cost 20c an episode.
