Communications Minister David Cunliffe says a new ICT representative body is being considered.
The Government is considering setting up a new representative body for the digital and community sector, Communications Minister David Cunliffe said today.
"It is proposed this new advisory body will provide ministerial advice, provide research and information to the large number of sector groups, and support new digital
programmes," he said in a statement.
The aim would be to provide a stronger, unified voice for the broader ICT sector, including community ICT interests.
Mr Cunliffe said he was not proposing replacing current sector groups, but wanted to ensure that all sector and community interests were heard and adequately resourced by an umbrella group.
