Palmerston North-based mailorder catalogue retailer EziBuy has switched from Telecom to Clear Communications as its network provider for internet access and web hosting, as well as a range of phone services.
Ezibuy will also use Clear's frame relay network to provide internet access to its branches in Palmerston North,
Mt Wellington and Albany.
EziBuy marketing director Matt Toynbee said Clear would help it to develop an e-commerce site that would eventually offer the company's full range of clothing and gifts online.
"At the moment we've got an internet presence rather than a proper site."
Mr Toynbee said putting Ezibuy's entire range online would be a "huge issue" which went "way beyond just producing a web site." He could not say when it would be completed.
Ezibuy's flagship catalogue, one of 19 the company produced each year, contained 300 styles. Each style was offered in five or six sizes and 10 or 12 colours.
Clear spokeswoman Rochelle Lockley said Ezibuy's site would be included in Clear's shopping pages but the details were still being worked out.
Clear would also help Ezibuy to establish a single call centre to handle telephone, e-mail, fax and online orders from New Zealand, the Pacific Islands and Australia.
"It's great for Clear to find a business partner which can benefit from so many of our diverse business services at once, and Ezibuy will be offered competitive pricing as a result."
