We happen to live in a global tourism hotspot - but how many of us get out and enjoy New Zealand as much as we should?
If you're planning to see more of the country this summer, look no further than Tourism New Zealand's free Essential New Zealand Travel Guide.
Packed with information and advice, the app is as handy to the road-tripping Kiwi as it is to the overseas visitor.
Designed by TWBA/The Digital Arts Network, the app works in tandem with TNZ's mobile-optimised travel website, newzealand.com, to ensure tourists can explore as much of the country as they can.
Launched in 2013, the app's creation reflected a rapidly rising number of tourists travelling with smartphones - and a 250 per cent increase in mobile device traffic to the TNZ website in the year before its inception.
The app means users can access up-to-date information about hundreds of selected travel experiences without the need for an internet connection, get pointed to nearby attractions and activities, and save and sync plans to other devices with the "Your Trip" feature.
For tourists who prefer to stay on the beaten path, TNZ has added the top 10 experiences, along with must-do experiences for 26 regions and many popular locations.
If you're halfway around the Milford Track, for example, you can use the app to plan where you want to go next before you even get back to your accommodation.
Online users can easily access comprehensive accommodation and transport booking information on newzealand.com.
The app also includes contact details and map locations for every activity and regional i-SITE centres, meaning you can still get travel the advice the old way.
The app is compatible with iPhone, iPad and Android devices.
