With a final score of 79 to 15, the Mellowpuff XV continued its unbeaten streak after a rugby game against the Toko team on Sunday. The crowd enthusiastically supported both teams.
Mellowpuff Trust chairperson Terry Long says the match was "the way people came together to support the cause".
Terryadds that a number of Taranaki children "are going to benefit from this day", and says some new friendships have been formed.
The Mellowpuff side included a mix of players, varying in age and ability.
While not all the players knew each other well before the match, at least one player knew all of captain Matt Goodwin's secrets. Mark Goodwin was not just a player on Matt's team, but also his father.
