Le Dejeuner Catering Avon hockey team played Hawera on Friday night.

Both teams scored in the opening minutes before Hawera went on to score another four in the first half. Avon played well in the second half but didn't add to their tally.

Avon's player of the day was Tim Neild while Jaxon van Burgsteden got the goal.

On Saturday, Brian Darth Funeral Services Stratford men's A played NPBHS and dominated the students. Stratford took advantage of undisciplined play, but small mistakes kept both teams fighting before Stratford won 3-0. Andrew Hey made a brilliant save to keep the boys scoreless.


Le Dejeuner Catering Stratford A women had five players away so B team members had their chance to step up against Masters. Stratford took control and kept Masters on defence for much of the game and scored five goals in each half. Sandford's 4 Square Stratford B women played Northern Black in New Plymouth. They played some good hockey with some great team work but lost 5-0.

Sandford's 4 Square Broadway also played Northern Black in New Plymouth. and needed to win to have a chance to make the top four. With a great early goal by Cory Kieft, Broadway was playing well before Northern got a goal.

Broadway added goals by Glen Taylor and Andrew Darke to win 3-2. Broadway's player of the day was Cory.
