On Sunday, round one of the Captain Trophy and putting was played. The leaders for Captian Trophy are Andrew Bevins 42; Kevin Sullivan 41; Brian Needham, Glen Murffitt 40; Vaughan Wood and Neil Smillie 39. Best men's putting, Brian Needham, Kevin Sullivan, all 28 putts; Andrew Bevins Vaughan Wood 29; Maurice Mills, Glen Murffitt 30; best ladies Margaret Smillie 37 stb and 33 putts; Laureen Baldock 36stb and 31.

Stratford

The ladies competition last Tuesday was LGU, Peggy Pitt and putting. Best scores for 9 holes: Liz Sunman 29 nett; Glenys Scheliin 34; Fay Austin 33. Tuesday ladies 18 holes, best nett, Pauline Downs 64 nett; Bobbie Oliver 66; Maria Weydon 67. Best putts, Pauline and Mary McQuay 29; Flo Coburn 30.

Saturday ladies played Helena and Doris. Best stableford, Debbie Volzke 47; Heather Vivian 40; Jenny Hignett 39. Best two, Diane Severinsen.

Stratford stableford

The stableford competition was played in warm conditions. Best scores for ladies, Debbie Volske 47; Shirley Hosking, Maria Weyden 41; Flo Coburn, Bobbie Oliver 40; accuracy, Janice Walton. Men, Michael Walsh 40; Neil Bertie, Norm Webby, Phil Spragg 39; Ray Reitzema 38; accuracy, Michael Walsh.

The Summer Cup was set up for a close finish but a very good 80 off the stick, for a net 63, total 128 by co-leader Graham Bishop saw him beat Tony Cawley, nett 66, total 132.
