Young farmers from throughout Taranaki and Manawatu attended the Taraman Young Farmers competition on Saturday at the Stratford A&P Showgrounds. Clay bird shooting, fencing and stock judging were just a few of the highlights of the day as entrants competed to make it to the national competition.
Teen Ag secondary students were invited along to the competition to learn tips and tricks about stock judging in between competition rounds.
Jayden Harvey, co-ordinator of the Taraman event, says the competition gave young farmers in the area great experience in a competitive setting.
