Wilson wins junior cheese title

Eltham's hottest home bakers were crowned on Friday night after entries flooded in for the Eltham 4 Sqaure Cheese Scone competition.

Taya Wilson took home the title for the junior section for her home baking efforts and is already thinking ahead to next years competition.

"I used a classic cheese scone recipe but next year I think I might go for something a little different."

The Eltham Primary School student says she loves to bake at home and had a lot of fun preparing her signature scones for the judges.

Robyn Roberts and Marlene Henn from the Mangatoki Women's Institute and honorary member Paul Roberts were this years judges and say the competition was very close.

While Robyn says a secret ingredient or two is always welcomed in the competition, Marlene says in her opinion "a cheese scone should be a cheese scone".
