Weekly police report from Stratford

Inglewood CBD was cordoned off and evacuated on Wednesday, September 9 after a threat of a bomb at the Fun Ho! Toy Museum on Rata St.

Emergency services arrived on the scene around 12.20pm on Wednesday afternoon after the museum reported they had received a phone call about a bomb in the area.

Business owners and shoppers in the CBD were evacuated, and Keith Burrell of the New Plymouth police says everyone was cooperative and moved quickly from the scene.

Police are continuing their investigation.

It was a busy Saturday night for police in Stratford, says Senior Sergeant Robbie O'Keefe.

On the one night, police dealt with a variety of offences and offenders, including two domestics. The parties involved in both domestic situations are still being processed he says, adding that inquiries are continuing.

Also on Saturday, September 12, a man was caught driving at a speed of 162km an hour. He was charged with driving with excess speed as well as drink driving.

Another drink driver was arrested on the Saturday night, when an Eltham man was processed for drink driving after a reading of 785mcg of alcohol was taken.

A Stratford male was arrested for breaching a protection order on Saturday night and was held in custody overnight.

On Wednesday, September 9, an 18-year-old Stratford female was arrested in relation to a burglary which took place in Eltham. She was scheduled to appear in court yesterday.
