TSB Bank donates native trees to King Edward Park

TSB Bank has donated 35 native trees to King Edward Park, Stratford, as part of a bank-wide community support activity.

The mixture of native trees including rimu, totara, kauri and a range of grasses were presented to the park team by Dan Burrell and fellow TSB Bank team members.

The donated natives were then planted by the park planting team on Thursday, June 15 as part of a Stratford District Council run project to clear areas of overgrown scrub and blackberries at the park, replanting the areas with NZ natives.

TSB Bank has donated a range of plants as part of a nationwide tree donation initiative which gave each TSB Bank employee the option to support a New Zealand community organisation of their team's choice by donating a native tree.

The Stratford park was chosen as a recipient by TSB Bank's technology services, support services and Stratford branch team members.

And as a New Zealand owned bank, native trees, which represent the growth and strength of our organisation were a great choice,"says Kevin Murphy, chief executive TSB Bank.

¦More than 250 trees have been donated to communities throughout New Zealand as part of the one-off tree donation initiative, including supporting the re-greening of the Christchurch Port Hills, Taranaki Retreat, King Edward Park (Stratford), Inglewood Golf Club, Trees for Survival (Auckland), Motutapu Trust (Auckland), Otanewainuku Kiwi Trust (Tauranga), Karituwhenua Stream Walkway (Hawkes Bay), Te Awa School (Hawkes Bay), St John Bosco School (New Plymouth), Opunake Primary School and Eastwoodhill National Arboretum (Hawke's Bay).
