There's no business like shoe business for colleagues and friends, Laureen Tunnell and Robyn Marshall-Kirby.
Laureen and Robyn are the franchisees for Footloose Shoes in Whanganui and New Plymouth respectively, and have teamed up to bring the popular store to Hawera in the form of a pop-up shop.
"We didit last year, before Christmas, and it was really popular, so we decided to do it again. We both have customers in our store data bases who live in Hawera, Stratford and the surrounding areas, so this is our way of meeting them half-way so to speak."
Laureen says the shop will be open for at least a month, "and possibly six weeks all going well", and they are pleased with the reception they have had.
"Within the first day we have had lots of people coming in, saying they love Footloose, and being genuinely pleased too with the discounted prices we have in store."
Laureen says that with the discount prices customers are taking the opportunity to purchase a range of footwear. "Most people have a style that they love, but they are also trying something new as they can afford to take home that second pair."
With both women having more than nine years' experience each running their own stores, they both have a passion for footwear.
"You have to love what you do," says Laureen, adding that she thinks footwear is an exciting part of fashion.
"Individuality is key nowadays, and footwear is a great way to change an outfit completely. Whether it is a heel, a loafer or a court shoe, what you put on your feet makes or breaks your outfit.
"In store, we have the right match for any outfit and are happy to help you create your own look."
