Countdown is pleased to confirm it has received Council consent to build a $15 million supermarket in Stratford that will create up to 110 jobs and engage dozens of local construction workers and building contractors.
Countdown's General Manager for Property, Adrian Walker, says Stratford is a community the company is keen to employ and invest in.
"We're looking forward to putting together a local team to bring the great value, range, quality and service that Countdown is known for across the country.
"As one of New Zealand's largest employers, we're proud to offer flexible working hours for young people and part time workers, as well as fostering career development and training," says Adrian.
Adrian says the company is excited to start planning the timeline for the new store and to have found a great site in Stratford where the company doesn't currently have a presence.
