Sylvia takes measure of new space

With 50 years experience, Sylvia Klenner says she's never met a zip she couldn't mend.

Amends, Sylvia's mending and alterations business, can now be found inside the Stratford Citizens Centre, on the corner of Juliet and Regan streets, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

"I am so grateful to the Stratford Citizens Centre for letting me rent the space, this is an ideal location," Sylvia says. The centre has also provided her with a room screen to act as a changing room for her new space.

Sylvia has run Amends for almost three years. "I have built up a great reputation with regular customers, I just hope people know where to find me now".

Amends specialises in all kinds of mending and alterations with a wide range of clothing. "I work with all kinds of zips, even on pairs of jeans and workmen's overalls."

Sylvia has always loved sewing and always has a project on the go at home. "My mum taught me to sew as soon as I was old enough.

"I am very particular, if I am going to do it, I am going to do it right."
