Derek Wheel's Christmas shopping is sorted now thanks to the Stratford Lions Club Christmas stocking.
He says he purchased a book of five raffle tickets and says he was surprised to get the call to say he was the lucky winner.
"I am just delighted to have won, I hadn't done my Christmas shopping yet and now I don't have to."
He adds that there are plenty of things that will be appreciated by his family which, including grandchildren and great grandchildren, numbers nearly 50.
Wayne Burnnand, president of Stratford Lions Club, says the Christmas stocking raffle is the Lions' biggest fundraiser of the year. "It brings in around $5000, thanks to the support from people like Derek, and the money gets put straight back into the community enabling us to continue with our community projects each year."
