On Thursday, October 15, coaches and managers of the Steelformers Netball Club attended Netball Taranaki's "Black Tie" Awards evening at the Devon Hotel in New Plymouth.
We enjoyed celebrating with those who have achieved and supported Netball around Taranaki this year and seeing many players, teams, coaches, managers, umpires andofficials recognised for their wonderful achievements throughout the season.
This year Netball Taranaki introduced some new awards which acknowledged other worthy recipients, they were: Team of the Year (won by Tysons Premier 1 Netball team), Volunteer of the Year (won by Andrea Johns) and Club of the Year (won by Steelformers Netball Club).
The Steelformers Netball Club (based in Stratford) was formed in 2003 and is proudly sponsored by Taranaki Steelformers. The Club was one of many that were nominated for the category which had to meet the following criteria:
1. Works with Netball Taranaki by ensuring all documentation is on time
5. Final results for teams is indicative of supportive player development
6. Played an active role in assisting with the delivery of programmes and services to the members of the Club
We were overwhelmed by this acknowledgement which we credit to the wonderful members and their families that help co-ordinate, maintain and support through each season.
We would like to thank Taranaki Steelformers, Netball Taranaki and all those who have contributed to making this an active, fun and family-friendly club that allows everyone to participate in netball of some form ie. winter, summer, spring and fastnet league.
