Families and friends of Avon Kindergarten were greeted with a pwhiri and given delicious healthy soup to celebrate Puanga on Thursday 18th June. The children had prepared the soup as part of the Healthy Eating focus at Avon.
Avon Kindergarten took this opportunity to reflect on the past year and get feedback from parents. As well parents and whnau were asked for contributions to the plan for the next year and the wish list for future planning.
The children were keen to offer suggestions for what they would like to grow in the edible gardens that are to be constructed in the July holidays, thanks to grants from Fonterra Grassroots and the TSB Trust.
