Smiles galore as Press delivers prizes

There were two very happy households in town last Friday, as the Stratford Press delivered two awesome prizes to some very lucky winners.

Indiana Frazier was off school sick for the day, but was all smiles when we showed up with a pile of Domino Stars and accessories courtesy of Countdown Stratford. "They have collected a few of the dominos and have been playing with them," says her mother, Michelle, "but we would have never collected so many".

Indiana was happy to share her prize with her younger sister Ilya and the two girls were quick to unpackage all the dominos and additional toys. "I've found my favourite," Indiana says her favourite character is Buzz Lightyear, so she was excited to find his domino in the pile, while Ilya looked for, and found, her favourite, Jessie the Yodeling Cowgirl.

The girls have enjoyed the promotion, but didn't know their grandmother, Sandra Potroz, had entered them.

"It's a fantastic prize, thank you Countdown Stratford," says a very happy Indiana.

For Mitchell Boyes, winning the Little Kitchen competition was "a dream come true" says the nine-year-old budding scientist. "I love science and am always trying experiments, so now I have a whole load of things to try out."

Mitchell says his favourite Little Kitchen item is the Energizer Eco-advanced Batteries, "I am looking forward to building my own torch with the lab notes from this one, then I will be able to read under the covers when I am meant to be sleeping!"

Another thing he is looking forward to trying out is the recipe for Pams Hokey Pokey Popcorn Crunch that comes with the miniature popcorn. "It sounds like it is something I am going to want to eat a lot of."

Mitchell says he asked his carer to enter the competition on his behalf. "I always read all the newspapers and flyers we get in the mailbox and when I saw the competition in the Stratford Press I thought it was worth entering. I didn't think I would win though, and I thought it was a joke at first when they said I had won."

Mitchell says he thinks everyone should enter competitions, "if you aren't in, you can't win, that's what one of my cousins always says and he's right". Mitchell has asked us to pass on his thanks to everyone at Stratford New World for providing such an "awesome" prize. "It is the best thing I have won ever."
