Seven qualify for NZ champs

CMK Stratford Flyers had a team of seven swimmers qualify and attend the Swimming New Zealand Division 2 Championship swim meet in Dunedin between March 18 and 21.

Coach Aimee Woodhead says "all swimmers gained personal best times and made top 10 rankings with four gaining medals". She adds that this development meet is a good step into national competitions for this group of swimmers aged between 13 and 16.

Finalists and medal results:

Brooke Millar, 15 years female: silver 800m freestyle, bronze 400m freestyle, 5th 400m medley, 7th 100m freestyle, 8th 200m medley.

Lania Hancock, 13 years female: silver 200 backstroke, 6th 100m backstroke, member of Taranaki Relay team to gain two bronze medals in the medley and freestyle 4 x 100m relays.

Cormach Hughson-How, 13 years male: bronze 1500m freestyle.

Bayley Knofflock, 14 year female: bronze 200m freestyle, 5th 400m freestyle, member 4 x 100m freestyle relay team gaining bronze.

Emma Paton, 16 years female: 6th 400m medley.

Ella Dazley, 15 years female: 8th 50m backstroke.

Adele O'Byrne: qualified for National Age Group Champs in the 50m backstroke.
