Rapturing Grace Tabernacle Church to hold open air service in Stratford

Pastor Alray Robertson says the church is holding an open air service next Saturday

If you've ever wondered what a service is like at the Rapturing Grace Tabernacle Church in Stratford, you can find out next week.

Alray Robertson, pastor of the church on Regan Street, says church members will be holding an open air service in Prospero Place on Saturday to give people a taste of what their church is like.

"People might have wondered about our church, but not come in to a service. We want to connect with the community and thought rather than just say come in to our church, which people are always welcome to do of course, we would bring the church to the people."

Alray says the service itself will be relatively short, however the church members will be singing before and after the 15 to 20 minute service.

"So people will be able to listen to the singing, or even join in, for about half an hour both at the start and again at the end."

Alray says the open-air service is a way to reach out into the community.

"We'd like to connect with other Christians in the community, and of course it would be great if we were to reach out to people who don't necessarily consider themselves a believer, but it is also about letting people know who we are and what we believe."

Alray has been the pastor at Rapturing Grace Tabernacle for nearly six years now, and says when he first arrived it was the people who made it special.

"I just love the people there and I am looking forward to introducing others in Stratford to our congregation."

Open air service: Prospero Place, Saturday, February 9 from 10am.
Church services take place at Rapturing Grace Tabernacle every Wednesday and Sunday.
