Craig Hassell, of Stratford Vet Clinic, says that he aims to provide the best service to his clients, whether they be two legged or four.

Craig was acknowledged for this service at the Stratford Press Romeo Awards as he received Best Service Rural, sponsored by CMK Accounts, and Best Male Service Person, sponsored by the Stratford Business Association.

"It is humbling to be acknowledged not once but twice. I just do my job behind the scenes so it was a real surprise to get the nomination letter."

Craig has been working at the Stratford Clinic for more than 24 years.

The Stratford branch of the Taranaki Vet Centres is a great team, we all work to a high standard and strive to provide excellent service.

In his time at the clinic things have been growing and changing. "We grow to meet client expectations, they are paying good money for what we provide." He adds that this was reflected this year with several staff at the clinic being nominated for service awards.

Craig began at the clinic immediately after qualifying and started as a "mixed" veterinarian, nowadays however he takes a special interest in large animals and dairy medicine. He says that while the midnight call-outs can be very hard work, he doesn't dislike any part of his job. "Overall I love what I do and I get a huge amount of support from my wife too."

Craig says he is also supported by the team at the Stratford practice, "everyone here works so hard, all their support makes my job easier".

With two Romeos on the shelf, Craig is grateful for the nominations and looks forward to the next awards night. "I would like to acknowledge the sponsors of the awards and everyone who put the evening together, it was a fantastic night. I would absolutely get a table again next time".
