"We've been learning about poppies and why people wear them on Anzac Day."
Joeli Nakuta (6) has been digging trenches and learning to march in time at school last week. While these subjects may not be standard items on today's school curriculum students at Inglewood Primary School have been gainingsome basic skills in both subjects last week as they participated in a whole school inquiry learning project based around Anzac Day.
Pupils were put into mixed-age groups, and spent their afternoons moving around the school participating in the different activities. One of the highlights was learning to march under the skilled instruction of associate principal, Vicki Ritchie who was a corporal in the pay corps of the New Zealand Army before becoming a teacher.
