"Just like many home renovation projects, the planned maintenance, repairs and upgrades currently underway at the TSB Swimming Pool, have highlighted additional areas that have needed our attention."
Director of assets at Stratford District Council, Sven Hanne, says this means the planned re-opening of the facility has been set back by three weeks.
"It is much easier to do all the needed work now, while the pool is closed and empty, than to do it later on, when the areas requiring work are under two metres of water."
Sven says the upgrades and repairs of the pool and building will greatly improve users enjoyment of the facility. "The non slip carpet we have had installed is fantastic and will immediately reduce the number of slips and falls that occur pool side. The new boiler is not only significantly more efficient, but it will enable us to separately heat the kids pools and the main pool, giving each the right water temperature at all times." In addition, new lights installed throughout the building, along with newly painted pools, will make the facility brighter and give it a fresh look.
"While the pool is out of use for a slightly longer period, the end result will be worth it, and we thank everyone for their patience."
