Cherie says this is the first time she is showing at Fenton Street Art Collective.
"I've had pieces at Percy Thompson Gallery and Govett-Brewster in New Plymouth. Jo and Stuart have been supportive. Because it's my first proper exhibition, it is great to be showing with Jo as she has been able to guide me. It's nice to collaborate with her."
She says she enjoys life drawing, as it gets the creativity 'flowing'.
"It doesn't matter what the body looks like as each individual artist will find beauty in it. It could be the way light bounces off the skin or the curve of a line."
Cherie says she mainly works with paints.
"I love to paint. It's really relaxing, I'm always painting. I prefer oil painting as it's more buttery to work with."
■ Partial Bodies is running at the Fenton Street Art Collective until October 22.
