Mackays win for Anzac window

The Stratford Business Association (SBA) held an Anzac themed window competition in Stratford last week.

Windows were judged by Sharon Mackie-Langton, chairwomen, and Lauren Darrah, secretary, of the SBA.

"The businesses involved put in so much effort, I was blown away by the level of detail in the displays," says Sharon. She adds that it was great to see so many businesses entered in the competition.

After serious consideration Mackays Unichem Pharmacy were awarded first place.

The "very striking" display won the number one spot for being simple yet effective and making a great use of colour.

Second place went to Moss Rocard & Smith Chemist for "good use of poppies, flags and monument" and a very detailed poppy cross won Stratford Optometrists third place.

Lauren says the judging was tough, so a special highly commended placing was awarded to New Commercial Hotel for their display with authentic props and "nice LED signage".

Mackays Unichem Pharmacy will be presented with morning tea by the SBA.
