"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them."

With the Stratford RSA facing liquidation, this year's event was organised and facilitated by Stratford District Council.
Local woman Rawinia Henderson led the crowd in the singing of Amazing Grace and the New Zealand National Anthem during the service, which was officiated by Monsignor David Bell.
During the service a wreath was placed by Stratford mayor Neil Volzke.
