Jessica Taunt's creative vision and love for sewing has seen her win the secondary school category of The Great CanTeen Bandanna Challenge.
The 17-year-old Stratford High School student says winning the national competition was a big surprise. "I had never entered the competition before but I had a really clear idea of what I wanted to create."
Jessica says she wanted to design an animal themed wall hanging that could be later donated to the children's ward at Taranaki Base Hospital.
The Great CanTeen Bandanna Challenge is open to students of all ages and the challenge is to create a wall hanging entirely made of CanTeen bandannas.
"My fabric technology teacher encouraged me to give it a go, I have always been a supporter of CanTeen and participated in events like Relay For Life so I was happy to give it a go."
