St Mary's Diocesan School began work on their new school gymnasium on Friday morning. Principal Fiona Green says the project has been in the works for several years. "TSB Community Trust and Taranaki Electricity Trust have been huge supporters in the project along with various other local groups, it is great to finally be underway." The building will house a full sized basketball court and "will be a great extension for health education, physical education and sport within the school".
