The Scratching Post in Stratford has six kittens looking for a home before winter sets in.
Karma Andrews, a volunteer at the shop, says that while the shop seems full of kittens, with Scooter, Meeagi, Neo, Cookie, Pasco and Kimbra all making themselves heard during the day, "the kitten season
is coming to an end".
Karma says people often think of adopting a kitten over the next few months, with the next school holidays offering a good time to introduce a new pet to a family, "but there are very few kittens by then, these six are really among the last of the season, so people need to act quickly if they want a feline friend to snuggle up with in front of the fire this winter".
Karma says with the kittens being 11 weeks old, they are the perfect age to move.
"They are all litter trained, de-sexed and have passed a a vet check. Each kitten has been treated for fleas and worms and are all well-socialised. They are used to well-behaved young children, as well as other pets."
