RE AUTOMOTIVE situated on Fenton Street in Stratford offer customers the complete package for all of their automotive needs.
Owners Todd and Scott Holland opened the performance workshop because they saw a need for their skills in town.
The brothers grew up around cars and remember learning to drive in the family
paddock at Makahu when they were young.
Todd is a certified auto finisher and Scott is a certified automotive engineer and servicer.
Todd has six years of experience and Scott, five years.
Todd heads the paint shop, which provides full ground-up rebuild, custom paintwork, fibreglass repairs and a full down draft spray booth/bake oven.
The bake oven is state-of-the-art and uses all of the latest equipment. The mixing room is fully computerised and can create tints to any colour.
Scott looks after the workshop, which offers all mechanical repairs, services and tune-ups, warrant of fitness, repairs, exhausts, tyres (up to 24 inch), rotary engine porting and rebuilds.
To add to their customer service, the brothers offer a pick up and delivery service for local clients.
When the brothers decided to build their own business, they enlisted the help of builder Haydn Trumper.
With Haydn's advice and expertise, the duo were able to purchase a house and section, which was subdivided, creating a larger workshop.
The workshop is unique because that the roof is single-run sheets of iron. It measures an impressive 20 metres over the longest area. A crane was used to lift the sheets of iron onto the roof.
The brothers chose to go with long-run roofing as it made the building safer, with no leaks or holes. They also used natural lighting by fitting several skylights throughout the building.
The building has the latest security system available from Chubb Alarm and the entire building has a firewall installed by Speedwall.
The duo will also have a small car sales yard and will soon be members of the Motor Trade Association (MTA).
RE stands for rotary engine, an area Todd and Scott enjoy working in and will offer customers this specialised service in the near future.
The pair are excited about their new venture and hope locals will support their business.
