Local farmers had the chance to tackle the steep hills, muddy tracks and boggy paddocks of rural Taranaki in the Can-Am Defender range two weeks ago, thanks to the a demonstration day hosted by Taranaki Motorcycles.
The Defender Side by Side Utility vehicle range have been developed specifically for the Australasian market, with New Zealand's conditions in mind says Gavin Dey, owner operator of Taranaki Motorcycles.
Gavin says the demonstration day gave local farmers the chance to try the vehicles out for themselves.
"We created a track that mirrored the sort of landscape that a typical Taranaki farm would have so that farmers could test the power of the vehicles in a real life setting."
While the wet weather may have deterred some, Gavin says it was a great opportunity to show off the stability features of the vehicles.
