Students at St Joseph's School in Stratford used Sir Edmund Hillary as their inspiration for a fundraiser for Nepal on Friday.
Members of the student council wanted to raise money to help those impacted by the recent earthquake in the South Asian country, so asked for "a fiver for Nepal" from each school family for a mufti day held last week.
"Five dollar notes have Edmund Hillary's picture on them," says Tanishq Badoni (12), who is head student councillor along with Ben Vanner (13).
Ben says they made the link with the famous mountaineer "because he spent a lot of time in Nepal and was the first person to reach the summit of Mount Everest".
By the end of the day, an impressive $767.60 had been raised by the school, to help aid efforts in Nepal.
