STRATFORD'S social motorcycle club 'Club X' celebrated a milestone last weekend reaching double digits. Members honoured the 10th anniversary with a variety of activities during the Easter break. Current president George Marchant had this to say: "As president and secretary of Club X we would like to thank the many localbusinesses and individuals who collectively contributed to make our 10th anniversary a great success this past Easter weekend. From a nondescript beginning as an opossum skinning factory to where we have evolved today into a fully licensed social motorcycle club with 20 members, holding an annual poker run and midwinter memorial ride for deceased members, Club X can be proud of what they have achieved over these years. The evolution has not been without problems and the ongoing noise issues from our extremely popular live bands twice a year is a hurdle we are trying to overcome, so the one person it affects does not stop the enjoyment of 100. Sponsorship for the club is ever increasing and covers a large portion of Stratford's businesses and other further a field, many of whom own and ride their own bikes alongside us. The club has members with all makes of motorcycles, Japanese are not excluded, but encouraged to call into the club and meet us as our charter is based on promoting the safe and enjoyable use of motorcycles, no matter what make or model. This last November was an exciting time for the club as we were invited to enter 10 motorcycles in the annual TT race around the streets encircling the clubrooms. This event is held annually by a local car club and is destined to be a big day on our calendar over the coming years. As a club we are constantly trying to move ahead and have a fairly large wish list we are slowly working our way through. Some of these projects are shower and toilet block for overnight visitors, kitchen upgrade and a motorcycle workshop. We would like to invite all interested motorcycle riders to call into Club X and meet the members if you haven't done so already and enjoy the facilities we have. Again thanks to all our sponsors and we hope the association is a long one." President 007 and Secretary Tun.
