Once upon a time, a distant kingdom celebrated the birth of a beautiful princess ...
No, this isn't about the recent royal birth in the United Kingdom, but rather the introduction to one of the most well known fairy tales - Sleeping Beauty.
The magic, wonder and enchantment of the story of Princess Aurora cursed by the evil fairy Carabosse and saved, with a kiss, by Prince Deserea, is being retold by La Classique at the TSB Showplace on Wednesday, May 27.
La Classique was established in 1990 by its current director, Elik Melikov, and brings the talent of ballet dancers from the leading theatres of the Bolshoi, Kirov and Ballet theatres among others, to stages around the world.
On Wednesday, May 27 at 7.30pm, this enchanting 2 act fairytale performance will be at the TSB Showplace for one night only. It promises to be an evening of spectacular ballet for the whole family as the talented dancers, combined with lavish costumes and magnificent stage sets bring the story of Princess Aurora and the music of Tchaikovsky to life on stage.
