A pupil at Stratford Primary School was hit by a car this afternoon and has been taken by ambulance to Base Hospital.
Principal David Cripps says he is pleased with the quick emergency services response to the incident, and was pleased to see the young girl was conscious and talking.
School parents and staff immediately began directing traffic to avoid the area, where the young girl lay covered in blankets before the ambulance arrived. Police were talking to the driver and other witnesses at the scene.
David says the school will work with pupils following this incident, supporting them as needed. He will keep the school community updated on the young girl's progress.
