While New Zealanders across the country were celebrating the announcement of the move from level two to level one last Monday, one Stratford resident had another reason to celebrate.
Rita Thompson, a resident at Maryann Rest Home, turned 97 on what was to be the last day New Zealand wasat alert level two.
Her birthday was celebrated with her friends and the staff at the rest home with cake, balloons and birthday banners.
