I'll be home when this war is over I'll be home when this battle is done. No more firing of guns, at some mothers' son, In a battle where no-one has won.
I'll be coming home to green fields full of clover, And to streams still clean and clear. Where skiesare still filled with the wonder Of God's answer to all we hold dear.
I hold fast to that God-given promise, For that day with no war left for me. And I pray that we all are united In a world where we all can be free.
Stratford woman Faith Pauling wrote this poem for Anzac Day this year. She has shared it with the Stratford Press readers.
