New Zealand sailors Grant Dalton and Kevin Shoebridge are fighting it out for second place in the fourth leg of the round-the-world yacht race from Auckland to Rio de Janeiro.
Last night, Shoebridge's Tyco were five nautical miles behind Amer Sports One.
Tyco had reported a fresh breeze earlier in the day,
which had given them a slight advantage over Dalton's boat.
However, Shoebridge had been expecting to lose some of thatground as the wind shifts towards the east.
Both boats have gained 11 miles on the leading yacht, illbruck, but were still around 58 miles behind.
Assa Abloy, djuice and News Corp made up the middle of the fleet.
Further back, the all-female crew on Amer Sports Too were more than 500 miles behind illbruck.
The fleet are expected to reach Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday.
